About the Carbon Lifestyle Tour

The Low Carbon Lifestyle Tour map

The Low Carbon Lifestyle Tour is a 6-month voyage around Britain in the revolutionary zero-emission Explorer Microyacht, to promote the benefits of low carbon living. The tour will visit forty ports including Swansea, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, London and Southampton, liaising with regional and national media to reach an audience of 12 million.

The message is that low carbon lifestyles - a life that creates less carbon dioxide - is easy, fun, saves money and improves your quality of life. A website, fliers and handbook accompany the tour, which launches from Clovelly, Devon, at 15:00 Easter Sunday 8th April, and ends in Exeter, on the 14th October 2007. (Clovelly to Exeter was covered by Mukti Mitchell in ‘Chance’ during the Southwest Low Carbon Tour in 2005.)

Guidebook

Following the success of the Resurgence Personal Carbon Dioxide Calculator (first in an independent survey of carbon calculators on-line), Mukti Mitchell has written a guidebook to accompany the tour, called “The Guide to Low Carbon Lifestyles”

The Guide is quick to read, inexpensive, and for readers of all backgrounds. It contains 10 chapters on the 10 aspects of a low carbon lifestyle: electricity use, food, transport, shopping, insulation, waste disposal, entertainment, energy sources, the workplace and holidays.

The Guide is available as a free electronic download for the duration of the tour (see the downloads page of this site), you can order hard copies by mail, or pick up a copy at a talk or event during the tour.

The 2007 Sail Tour

Mukti set sail on Easter Day, 2007, you are able to watch his progress on this site. Here is the itinerary so you can see when he'll be sailing into a port near you.
